Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an distinguished chair in psychology at the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. The university is renowned for launching the modern science of child eyewitness memories and using child victims to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman has published extensively as well as received numerous grants. She has also has been awarded several international and national prizes. She has advised a variety of authorities and government agencies around the world about policies and research relating to the treatment of children victims of the law by the system. She acts as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She was a founder member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has been president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, as well as three Divisions: Children and Families Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
