Rene Russo, born in Burbank the state of California on the 2nd of September 1970. She was the daughter of Shirley Balocca a barmaid/factory worker and Nino Russo. Her father, a sculptor and mechanic left the family when Rene was just two and thus her mother raised Rene along with her younger sister Toni by herself as a single mom. Her father, who was Italian from the Italian-German-English-Irish lineage was her mother. Rene was diagnosed with scoliosis when she was in her junior year and was required to wear a torso-length brace. Her height was already an impressive girl which earned her the nickname Jolly Green Giant from her friends. She enrolled in Burroughs High School along with fellow classmate Ron Howard and even though the brace had been taken off she remained a loner. Rene could not handle academics as well as the social aspects in high school. Her departure was in 10th grade. To save money the young woman took a string of part time jobs for 18 months. Most of them were paid. In her position as a waitress in a movie theater where she could watch free films. She also worked at restaurants where meals were provided for free. And she worked in Disneyland as a cashier where admissions are free. There were times when she had two jobs at one time. Her previous job, that only paid a salary was a full-time job at an eyeglass factory reviewing contact lenses.
